All the Light We Cannot See

This book is monumental. It grips from the first sentence to the last. I haven’t ever read anything this engaging. Doerr produced a masterwork; here is something to be held up in awe, made an example of, set as a high-water mark and level of quality to strive for.

The story’s rather good, too.

I came across this one via a trailer for an upcoming adaptation. I like this new process of mine, where I seek out the literary foundations of television shows and films. I’m richer for it, and this novel is an absolute testament to the importance of reading. It made me appreciate the inherent magical power of words written with precision, and at this point in my literary career it inspires, rather than demoralizes.

I highly recommend this book.
